Hidden Gully, Clogwyn Ddu

I was joined today by Chris & Julie for a day of private guiding. It was originally going to be a day of scrambling but the cloak of snow that is sitting over the mountains meant a change of plan. They had both done some winter skills in Scotland and Chris had done some rock climbing so we decided to progress there skills and do a winter route. We headed into Cwm Cneifion and climbed Hidden Gully (II). Chris lead with me alongside whilst Julie seconded her first ever climb. The route had some nice old snow in it and a very light dusting of fresh stuff. Cogwyn Du was thawing fast with regular chunks of ice dropping down. After topping out we descended the Gribin Ridge which gave a lovely grade 1 descent on lots of fresh snow. .
