I have been out with Andy today who is a regular client and had become a friend over the years that we have been going out for adventures together in the mountains. Andy gave a short brief for the day, it needed to be big, it wanted to feel hard in big boots and he wasn't bothered about learning anything! Amphitheatre Buttress fitted the bill nicely with just the right balance of length, exposure and difficulty and no one else on the crag either! There was a light breeze, no midges, the rock was warm and I was climbing in a t-shirt, I wouldn't want to be anywhere else on a day like this. I did forget my helmet though which was a bit of a schoolboy error!
