It was wet and wild on the West today so we made the decision to head East to the Cairngorms where it was still wild (80mph winds on the summits) but was at least relatively dry. There has been an uber thaw of snow so we had to balance not getting blown away with getting high enough to find some white stuff. Having spent some time this morning increasing avalanche knowledge we did some companion rescue scenarios this afternoon and then looked at the use of the rope in winter navigation. Loads of snow forecast for tomorrow!
