I have been running the first day of a navigation course today in Cwmfynnon on the Glyderau. It has stayed dry all day and the cold Northerly airflow has kept temperatures down but given some lovely views and light. We spent the day building up the basic skills of navigation and putting the tools in place for a mountain journey tomorrow.
As you will see in the photos someone has seen fit to paint some new red markings on the footpath upto the Glyderau which to my mind is a real shame. The old blobs were starting to fade and should never have been placed their in the first place. We have a strong ethic in the mountains of the UK of leaving them as we find them for others to enjoy and this is an example of an urban impingement on our wild spaces that I really dislike.
