Scottish Winter Skills Week
I am back in Scotland this week and the weather today has been truly Scottish as if in celebration of the start of my new season! I am running a five day winter skills and have been joined by 3 repeat clients and 3 new clients for a week of fun in the snow. Toady we went to Aonach Mor and used the gondola to get upto the snow line which is currently at about 750m. We looked at ice axe and crampon skills on perfect neve and large sheets of ice before moving round onto a leeeward slope to look at avalanche awareness and avoidance. We finished the day with an ice axe arrest session and a walk down because 75mph winds closed the gondola! It has been snowing heavily all day over about 650m. Great fun though and nice to be back.
